Sabotage and violence: the call for action against armed militias in Kimomo

The recent sabotage carried out by Mobondo militiamen, led by unscrupulous individuals, against the act of engagement and peace between the Teke and Yaka communities reveals a deliberate act aimed at disrupting the stability and security of the local populations. The traditional leader of Kimomo, Stany Libie, vehemently denounced these destructive actions during a brutal attack in the village of Menkwo, leaving behind death and desolation.

This latest attack, which resulted in the loss of around ten oxen in a stable, is blatant proof of the persistent threat that these armed militias represent for the region. The control exercised by these attackers over several villages in the region and the repeated attacks against property and residents show the urgent need for effective intervention to put an end to this spiral of violence.

Chief Stany Libie clearly emphasizes that these militiamen operate with impunity, defying state authority and jeopardizing pacification efforts between the Teke and Yaka communities. Despite the recent signing of the act of commitment and peace before the Head of State, the attacks persist, thus demonstrating a blatant disregard for the agreements concluded and a lack of respect towards the constituted authorities.

These acts of violence and sabotage are unacceptable and demand a firm and resolute response from the relevant authorities. It is imperative to take concrete measures to ensure the security of local populations and put an end to the destructive actions of these armed militias. The persistence of such attacks not only poses a threat to regional peace and stability but also a direct challenge to State authority and the integrity of agreements reached.

In conclusion, it is essential that adequate measures are taken quickly to deal with this alarming situation. The protection of local populations and the preservation of peace and stability in the region must be absolute priorities. It is time to put an end to these acts of violence and sabotage and uphold state authority to ensure a peaceful and prosperous future for all.
