“The path to peace: Why the release of Nnamdi Kanu is crucial for the future of South-East Nigeria”

In a recent statement, former PDP spokesperson, Olisa Metuh, stressed the critical importance of finding a political solution to end the lingering unrest in the South-East region of Nigeria. He expressed admiration for President Tinubu, praising his commitment to peace, development and stability in this region.

Metuh called on the President to release Nnamdi Kanu, who has been incarcerated for some time, as a major step in restoring lasting peace to the South East. He praised Tinubu’s democratic leadership and encouraged him to use his pan-European skills to resolve problems in this region.

According to Metuh, Kanu’s continued detention and reliance on military options have not helped resolve tensions in the region. On the contrary, these measures have given rise to malign interests that have hijacked the peaceful aspirations of the people, leading to acts of violence and destruction.

He stressed that the Igbos are peaceful, law-abiding, enterprising and hard-working individuals, but their quest for justice, fairness and respect is often misinterpreted.

Metuh calls for a more approach focused on dialogue, mutual understanding and the liberation of Kanu to restore harmony and prosperity in the Southeast. His plea for a political solution reflects an optimistic vision for the future of the region and its people.

Ultimately, the search for a political solution and commitment to dialogue remain essential to ending tensions and promoting peace and stability in South-East Nigeria.
