Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly recently met with a delegation of members of the Ways and Means Committee of the United States House of Representatives, marking Egypt’s continued commitment to strengthening its strategic partnership with the United States. During this meeting, which saw the participation of representatives of the Republican and Democratic parties, the Prime Minister stressed the importance of strengthened cooperation between the two countries to deal with the economic repercussions of regional and international crises.

Madbouly highlighted Egypt’s sustained efforts to maintain the strength and flexibility of its economy in the face of external shocks. He notably mentioned the government’s success in concluding a financing agreement with the International Monetary Fund worth 8 billion US dollars, thus demonstrating the confidence of this institution in the capacity of the Egyptian economy to achieve performance. positive.

Furthermore, the Prime Minister mentioned the existing collaboration with the World Bank Group and international partners such as the European Union to support structural reforms of the Egyptian economy and development plans aimed at strengthening the private sector. Regarding continued coordination with the United States on climate change issues, Madbouly highlighted the establishment of the working group between the two countries, officially launched in February 2022 as part of the strategic dialogue. This collaboration gave rise to numerous initiatives, particularly in the areas of mitigation and adaptation, during Egypt’s presidency of COP27 in Sharm el-Sheikh.
