“A major agreement signed to improve solid waste management in Egypt”

The Minister of Planning and Economic Development, Hala al-Saeed, the Minister of Environment, Yasmine Fouad, and the Minister of Local Development, Hesham Amna, signed an agreement on Sunday with the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Arab Organization for Industrialization (OAI), Mokhtar Abdel Latif, for the implementation of projects with a total value of 565 million Egyptian pounds.

These projects include the implementation of the fifth phase of the solid waste management system infrastructure in the governorates of Matrouh, Beheira, Damietta, Sharqiya and Giza.

This agreement was signed following the directives of President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli to implement a new system aimed at improving solid waste management nationwide to improve the level of cleanliness and achieve citizen satisfaction.
