In a context of Sino-Congolese partnership aimed at the development of infrastructure in the Democratic Republic of Congo, President Félix Tshisekedi recently met Freddy Yodi Shembo, director general of the Agency for Steering, Coordination and Monitoring of Collaboration Conventions (APCSC ). This meeting aimed to discuss the monitoring of the implementation of the fifth amendment to the contract between the two countries.
The amendment signed on March 14 aims to restore balance to this partnership and make it mutually beneficial. During this meeting, President Tshisekedi stressed the importance of key road projects to be put forward. He focused on the section of national road 1 linking Mbuji-Mayi to Nguba in Kasai Oriental, the bypass road of the capital Kinshasa (Mbudi-N’djili) and the Kalamba Mbuji-Kananga axis.
These presidential directives will help guide the joint efforts of the DRC and China for infrastructure development within the framework of their strategic partnership. The rapid implementation of these priority road projects should not only stimulate economic activity in the region, but also facilitate the movement of people and goods throughout the Congolese territory.
This collaboration between the DRC and China demonstrates a common desire to promote the development and economic growth of the country, while strengthening ties between the two nations. A fruitful cooperation which looks promising for the future of Congolese infrastructure.
