Images of solidarity and compassion in the Sifa Kwa Mungu orphanage, Kindu
The celebration of Women’s Month in Kindu, in the province of Maniema, was marked by a moving gesture of solidarity. Female officers of the Directorate General of Customs and Excise (DGDA) have shown their compassion by providing food and financial assistance to more than 30 children at the Sifa Kwa Mungu orphanage.
This generous gesture, which includes bags of rice, salt, vegetable oil, soaps and a financial contribution, aims to support these vulnerable children and bring them some comfort in their difficult daily lives.
Régine Musombo Safi, president of the Gender Unit of DGDA/Maniema, expressed the motivation behind this initiative: “The women of DGDA Maniema wanted to mark this women’s month by showing solidarity with orphaned children, in order to to give them a smile and a little hope as mothers.”
The children of the Sifa Kwa Mungu orphanage, deeply touched by this help, expressed their gratitude to these caring women.
The orphanage, which currently houses more than 30 children, is largely dependent on donations and the generosity of caring people to provide for the needs of the young residents. Loleka Banangola Rebecca, the director of the establishment, stressed that these children depend entirely on the support of the founding couple of the orphanage, and that gestures of solidarity like that of the women of the DGDA are essential for their well-being.
This gesture of generosity at the Sifa Kwa Mungu orphanage in Kindu illustrates the power of solidarity and compassion, and shows how each act of kindness can bring a ray of light into the lives of the most deprived.
