In a security operation carried out in Nigeria, authorities revealed that they had arrested seven individuals involved in the artisanal manufacturing of rifles and pistols. The arrest took place around the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja. The suspects, aged between 20 and 29, were apprehended following information provided to operatives of the Nigeria Civil Security and Defense Corps (NSCDC) intelligence and investigation unit.

The leader of the group, Amos Iyawo, admitted to recruiting the other members to participate in the manufacturing of the firearms. He also confessed to finding a homemade pistol during an earlier operation with the Civilian Joint Task Force. The suspects admitted that their arms business was still at an early stage and that they had not yet sold any weapons.

During the arrest, authorities seized five assembled rifles, a pistol, an unfinished rifle, seven empty cartridges, various tools and equipment used for manufacturing weapons. All suspects and seized items have been handed over to police for further investigation and possible legal action.

This operation demonstrates the commitment of the Nigerian authorities to ensuring the security of citizens and fighting crime. It is essential that citizens remain vigilant and cooperate with security forces to ensure a safe environment for all.

As a nation, unity and cooperation are essential to confront security challenges and promote a peaceful and prosperous future for all Nigerians.
