The recent school kidnapping incident in Lagos, Nigeria has shaken the community and highlighted the dangers our children may face. The Public Relations Officer of the command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the arrest in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday.
According to Hundeyin, the matter was reported on Monday around 3:30 p.m. to the Zone M police command, Idimu, by one Segun, who is said to be the principal of a school (whose name has not been disclosed) located in the Ijegun area of Lagos. This principal reported that unknown persons invaded the school and kidnapped three students from the premises.
Immediately alerted, area detectives went to the scene. A chase led to the arrest of one of the suspects, a 40-year-old woman (whose identity has not been revealed), who allegedly kidnapped the three young kindergarten children. The children were quickly rescued and returned to their families, while the suspect was taken into custody.
The investigation revealed that the suspect, in complicity with other individuals on the run, had a motorcycle ready to take the victims. Police are currently searching for the other suspects involved.
