**Title: Upright soldiers refuse a bribe from cattle thieves in the Plateau**
In a show of bravery and integrity, eight soldiers have rejected a N1.5 million bribe offered by suspected cattle rustlers in Plateau State. OPSH troops, stationed in Sector Four, managed to intercept 30 stolen cows during a road check near Bisichi, Barkin Ladi local government area.
The animals, belonging to Shehu Umar and stolen from Mangu, were being transported to an unknown destination when soldiers arrested them during a search operation. Faced with this situation, the suspects, Anas Usman (20 years old) and Gyang Cholly (42 years old), tried to bribe the soldiers by offering them a bribe to obtain a secure pass for the stolen animals.
However, the eight soldiers bravely rejected the sum of money and instead proceeded to arrest the suspects as well as confiscate the offered money. Major General Abdusalam Abubakar, Commander of the operation, warmly congratulated and rewarded the soldiers for their act of integrity and dedication towards the impartial mission of the OPSH.
This exemplary action demonstrates the professionalism and commitment of the security forces to combat livestock theft and maintain security in the region. It sends a strong message to cattle thieves and all those who would seek to corrupt law enforcement: integrity and the law will always prevail.
The story of these eight courageous soldiers should serve as an example and inspiration to promote a culture of honesty and responsibility in society. Their refusal of the bribe is an act of bravery that deserves to be celebrated and encouraged.
