“Humanitarian crisis in the DRC: WFP calls for an end to violence and global solidarity”

The World Food Program (WFP) recently sounded the alarm regarding the persistence of violence hampering its operations in the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo. Indeed, this critical situation along the axis between Goma and Saké has created a humanitarian vacuum, leaving millions of people living in precarious conditions.

According to information relayed by the WFP on social networks, more than 128,000 people have moved to seek refuge in the surroundings of Goma and Minova due to this persistent violence. Faced with this tragedy, the World Food Program calls for an immediate end to the deadly violence in the region.

Committed to providing much-needed food assistance to populations affected by conflict and natural disasters, WFP recently distributed 432 tonnes of food to more than 25,920 beneficiaries in the Kalehe territory, South Kivu. This action demonstrates WFP’s continued commitment to supporting vulnerable communities in eastern DRC.

It is crucial to underline the importance of supporting WFP’s humanitarian efforts to respond to the urgent needs of these populations in distress. As citizens of the world, it is our duty to make the call for solidarity heard in order to provide concrete support to those who need it most.

Together, let’s mobilize to face this humanitarian crisis and work for a better future for all.

Looking forward to seeing you in future articles.
