The inauguration of the new state president of teachers in the union took place in Imeko, Ogun, marking the beginning of a new era for the organization. Sewakanu’s tenure, succeeding his predecessor, Abiodun Akinola, began with an open and impartial administration.

In his inauguration speech, Sewakanu pledged to run the union in a transparent manner, saying he would be an impartial leader, concerned with the welfare of all members. He stressed that his administration would strengthen the relationship between the union and all educational agencies in the state through consultations and collaborations.

The agencies in question include the Department of Education, the State Basic Education Council, the Education Service Commission, and the general offices of school directors and principals.

“I make this solemn declaration between God and me to be an impartial leader and to uphold the principles and values ​​of the union,” Sewakanu said. “I am determined to reorient, reorganize and build on the good deeds of previous union leaders.”

Let us also note the words of wisdom uttered by Akinola, urging members of the union to extend maximum support to the new president, emphasizing the importance of unity and collaboration. As for him, although he is retiring as a school principal, he promised to continue supporting Sewakanu to ensure the success of his tenure.
