“The DA’s relentless fight against the deployment of cadres: Heading towards the Constitutional Court”

Democratic Alliance (DA) leader John Steenhuisen recently faced an adverse ruling from the Pretoria court, which rejected, with costs, the party’s application to declare the party’s cadre deployment policy unconstitutional. the ANC.

This decision comes after the DA’s victory before the Constitutional Court in a long-running case where the party wanted the ANC to produce its minutes on cadre deployments dating from 2013.

The ANC released its documents on Monday following the Constitutional Court ruling.

In a statement to the media after Wednesday’s ruling, John Steenhuisen announced that the party would appeal the decision all the way to the Constitutional Court.

“Our legal team is working to analyze the judgment. But we will appeal to the Supreme Court of Appeal (SCA) and potentially directly to the Constitutional Court. We believe that there is no further constitutional priority greater than addressing this particular issue and its impact on South Africa.”

Steenhuisen said if cadre deployment was sustained in its current form, it would continue to compromise the state and cause great harm to South African citizens and their future prospects.

He stressed that the “secret weapon” to end cadre deployment was the national elections, which President Cyril Ramaphosa had announced for May 29.

Steenhuisen said the DA was committed to ending cadre deployment by tabling a bill in Parliament if it wins the election.

“Even if we have not overcome this first obstacle, I assure you, like elite athletes, that we will get up and resume the race towards the CSA, the Constitutional Court. I am committed to all South Africans to never stop fighting until this scourge of cadre deployment ends,” he said.

DA MP Leon Schreiber pointed out that the fight to rid itself of the effects of cadre deployment dates back to the 2012 ANC election conference in Mangaung.

He added that the battle was not against the deployment of cadres but rather a war against corruption.

“The DA will emerge victorious on this front because we will defeat this scourge,” he concluded.

This new article highlights the issues surrounding cadre deployment in South Africa and the DA’s commitment to fighting corruption, providing readers with a better understanding of the current political situation.
