The celebrated artist garnered four nominations at the recent Grammy Awards, becoming the first Nigerian artist to be nominated in a non-global category, and the first African artist to perform at the main ceremony.
In his remarks, Burna Boy highlighted his ability to showcase the rich and diverse sounds of Africa by incorporating elements that the younger generation can relate to.
The ten-time Grammy nominee also expressed pride that his career has encouraged more international collaborations, having worked with renowned artists such as Ed Sheeran, Stormzy, Dave, Busta Rhymes, Future and 21 Savage.
Burna Boy also highlighted his desire to use his music to demonstrate that African artists are capable of creating meaningful and impactful albums, capable of resonating with a global audience, whilst remaining relevant to his generation.
