“Validation of the mandates of 31 provincial deputies: a key step for the Kwilu provincial assembly”

The Kwilu provincial assembly recently validated the mandates of 31 new provincial deputies who will sit in the Bandundu hemicycle. During this plenary, the majority of elected officials participated in this essential act to officially begin their mandate.

This validation of the mandates follows a careful examination of the reports of the ad hoc commissions of the provincial assembly. The chairman of the age office, Oscar Nsaman, stressed the importance of this step, granting provincial deputies the necessary immunities to exercise their functions. He called on elected officials to work towards effective governance and to make crucial decisions for the development of the province.

Members of the provincial government are also reminded to choose between the provincial assembly and the government within eight days, in accordance with the electoral law in force. Despite the validation of these 31 mandates, eight seats remain vacant pending the national and provincial elections in the Masimanimba territory.

These elections were canceled in this territory due to disruptions that occurred during the combined polls last December. This decision suggests additional challenges for the Kwilu provincial assembly, but it also demonstrates the commitment of elected officials to continue their mission despite the obstacles encountered.

This stage marks the beginning of a new phase for the provincial assembly, with challenges to be faced and crucial decisions to be taken for the well-being of Kwilu province.
