“Young activists from Kananga: citizen unity to defend peace in the DRC”

Recent news in the Democratic Republic of Congo has aroused indignation among young people from various citizen movements in Kananga. Their rally on Saturday February 17 was marked by a strong condemnation of the persistent war in the east of the country, causing continued human losses.

The young people, gathered on Independence Square, expressed their categorical refusal of any negotiations with the M23 rebellion and its ally Rwanda. They appealed for citizen unity to support the efforts of the Armed Forces of the DRC (FARDC) in their fight against the enemies of peace.

In their statement, they stressed the need for solidarity and determination to defend their country against aggression. Aware of the challenges facing the DRC, they affirmed that the unity of all Congolese, beyond tribal and linguistic differences, constituted the key to resistance. They also urged the authorities to do everything possible to win the war and impose respect by force.

The young activists insisted on the importance of avoiding any dialogue with the aggressor, warning of the pitfalls of a temporary truce which would only delay further hostilities. They stressed that every centimeter of the national territory must under no circumstances be ceded, in order to guarantee a peaceful future for future generations.

Faced with this requirement for vigilance and determination, it is clear that the commitment of Congolese citizens is crucial to ensure the defense of their country and the preservation of peace. The situation in the DRC requires the unity and solidarity of all to face the current challenges and build a better future for the nation.
