“Agricultural tractors procurement demonstration in Niger state, Nigeria”
In an effort to enhance food sufficiency and agricultural productivity, the Bago-led administration of Niger state recently announced the procurement of new tractors. Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Bologi Ibrahim, highlighted the importance of this initiative as a key component of the state’s food sufficiency programme.
The governor’s commitment to local participation and engagement of indigenous professionals was underscored by Ibrahim. He emphasized the ongoing progress in the construction of the Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University Teaching Hospital in Minna, with particular focus on the conversion of Shiroro Hospital into the IBB University Teaching Hospital.
The involvement of local talent in projects undertaken by Thinklab Nigeria Ltd., the company overseeing the hospital construction, was lauded. Approximately 60 young individuals from Niger state have been employed in various capacities, showcasing the administration’s dedication to empowering local communities and promoting economic growth.
By prioritizing indigenous expertise and investing in agricultural machinery, the Bago-led government is laying a solid foundation for a sustainable and self-sufficient agrarian sector in Niger state. This forward-thinking approach not only boosts local employment opportunities but also fosters long-term development and prosperity for the region.
