“Social crisis at Trans-Academia: President Tshisekedi calls for the recovery of society”

Trans-Academia: A society at the heart of a social and economic crisis.

In a context marked by a strike by agents of Trans-Academia, the public company in charge of student mobility in Kinshasa, the President of the Republic Félix Tshisekedi expressed his deep concern and called on the government to find solutions to rule out this threat and ensure the recovery of society.

Since January, Trans-Academia agents have been on strike to demand payment of several months of unpaid salaries. A situation which endangers the proper functioning of this society and hinders the mobility of students in the Congolese capital.

Faced with this social and economic crisis, President Tshisekedi insisted on the importance of guaranteeing the funds necessary for the operation and equipment of Trans-Academia. With this in mind, the Minister of Finance has been responsible for ensuring the availability of these funds and will have to report on the execution of this instruction at the next council of ministers.

But the president didn’t stop there. He also recommended setting up a committee comprising experts from different departments, under the direct supervision of the Prime Minister. This commission will have the mission of evaluating the current needs of Trans-Academia and finding more effective ways to promote its development.

President Tshisekedi also wants this commission to regularly present the progress of the extension of Trans-Academia’s activities across the country during the quarterly councils of ministers. This measure aims to ensure regular monitoring of the company’s situation and to take the necessary decisions to guarantee its recovery.

This situation highlights the importance of public services and the proper functioning of public enterprises in the development of a country. Trans-Academia, as a company in charge of student mobility, plays a crucial role in the education and training of young Congolese. It is therefore essential to find lasting solutions to avoid this type of crisis in the future.

President Tshisekedi, by expressing his deep concern and asking the government to do everything possible to ensure the recovery of Trans-Academia, is sending a strong signal of his commitment to strengthening the efficiency of public services in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Let us hope that the measures taken by the government will resolve this crisis and give Trans-Academia the necessary means to ensure the mobility of students in the Congolese capital.
