Post-State of the Nation Address Critical Thinking Forum: Analysis and reflections on the future of South Africa
Every year, the president’s state of the nation address is a key moment for the country. This is an opportunity for the government to present its priorities and projects for the coming year. But what happens after this speech? How do experts analyze the promises and challenges facing South Africa?
It is with this in mind that the Mail & Guardian, in partnership with the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation, is organizing the Post-State of the Nation Address Critical Thinking Forum. This event will bring together a panel of renowned experts to discuss and debate the political, economic and sociological issues shaping South Africa’s future.
Scheduled speakers include Ahandiwe Saba, former deputy editor of the M&G, Dr Roland Ngam, program manager on climate change and sociological transformation at the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation, Lizeka Tandwa, political editor of the Mail & Guardian, Tessa Dooms, Director of Rivonia Circle, and Professor Richard Calland, Associate Professor at the University of Cape Town.
This think tank will be moderated by Lizeka Tandwa, political editor of the Mail & Guardian. Discussions will cover topics such as the economy, politics, environmental and societal issues, and many more. Speakers will provide unique insights into current issues and share their ideas and perspectives for South Africa’s future.
