“Renewed Hope Conditional Cash Transfer: a financial support program for vulnerable citizens of Kebbi State, Nigeria”

Alhaji Muhammad Hamidu-Jarkuka, the State Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, announced during a one-day refresher training for local government cash transfer facilitators in Birnin Kebbi, that the transfer unit State money would begin the registration process for the program.

The NASSP-SU programme, which aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda of the administration of President Bola Tinubu and Governor Nasir Idris, aims to provide financial relief to vulnerable citizens of the state. Under this program, it is planned to register 160,708 beneficiaries of the National Social Registry (NSR) and an additional 51,258 beneficiaries of the Rapid Response Registry (RRR). The registration will be done in all 21 localities and 71 wards spread across 3,308 communities in the state.

Each beneficiary will receive N25,000 per cycle, for a total of three payment cycles, making a total financial support of N75,000. The objective of this financial assistance is to bring a significant impact on the lives of beneficiaries and contribute to their well-being and resilience in the face of the difficulties caused by the current economic reforms in the country.

The Commissioner also encouraged the general public to visit their respective communities to verify whether their community and name are among the beneficiaries and proceed with their validation and registration. With this in mind, Alhaji Muhammad Nura-Adamu, the National Registration Officer, stressed the importance of this training to ensure that facilitators correctly capture the data of the 211,699 people already registered.

This cash transfer program aims to respond to the President’s directive to provide financial assistance to 15 million households across the country. In short, it is an initiative aimed at providing financial support to vulnerable citizens, helping them cope with the economic challenges they face and offering them renewed hope for the future.
