Legislative elections in the DRC: The AGPC party denounces the irresponsible accusations of Eric Makangu

The AGPC political party, through its communications unit led by Yves Abdallah Makanga, reacted strongly to the statements it describes as irresponsible, by candidate Éric Makangu, in the national legislative elections in Buta. In a press release, the party denounces unfounded accusations against its National President, Senator Carole Agito Amela.

The AGPC party affirms that candidate Eric Makangu is not the direct challenger of Senator Carole Agito in the national legislative elections because he is a candidate in Buta Territory and not in Buta Ville. In addition, the party highlights the records obtained by the senator during the polls, with an overwhelming victory in all the 65 polling stations in her electoral district.

The AGPC party wishes to clarify that no wrongdoing has been denounced or documented concerning candidate Carole Agito or her campaign team. According to the party, the results of the polls reflect the will of the people and the plebiscite granted to President Félix Tshisekedi, for whom the senator campaigned.

For his part, candidate Éric Makangu calls for the cancellation of the elections, accusing Senator Carole Agito of having orchestrated irregularities, notably the stuffing of ballot boxes in his electoral constituency in complicity with his cousin, Floribert Tepage.

The AGPC party considers Eric Makangu’s declarations as a last gasp before his political burial, referring to the expected results of the polls which will be confirmed by the CENI in the coming days.

In conclusion, this controversy between the AGPC party and candidate Éric Makangu illustrates the tensions that can arise during elections and the political issues that result from them. It is now up to the courts to decide on the veracity of the accusations and to guarantee the transparency and integrity of the electoral process.
