Education issues are essential to ensure the optimal growth of a society. This is why Fegga Federal Constituency Representative, Shehu, reaffirmed his commitment to educational development during a recent interactive session with members of the Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists.
Shehu announced that he would be awarding scholarships to students enrolled in various universities in the country, including Ahmadu Bello University, Usman Danfodio University and Federal University Dutse. These scholarships aim to ensure quality education and promote academic growth.
But that’s not all. Shehu also plans to invest in the construction of a primary school in the Rijjyar Lemo region. In fact, this area has not had enough space to accommodate a primary school for many years. Shehu therefore acquired land for the construction of a modern school in this area and allocated a sum of 50 million naira to launch this project.
The Fegga constituency is also famous for its sewing activity. This is why Shehu decided to support local tailors by registering them with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC). This initiative aims to give them the opportunity to obtain contracts for the manufacture of school, military and paramilitary uniforms. Shehu also plans to negotiate contracts for tailoring uniforms for the National Youth Corps and prison guards, providing new opportunities for trained and empowered tailors in Fegga constituency.
Finally, aware of the problems of flooding and erosion affecting certain areas of his constituency, Shehu has initiated steps to access ecological funds from the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF). These funds will make it possible to carry out work to prevent and manage natural disasters in the region.
Shehu’s commitment to the development of education, empowerment of local tailors and management of environmental issues in his constituency demonstrates his desire to create conditions conducive to harmonious and sustainable growth.
