“Modeste Bahati Lukwebo: an essential political pillar in the tumultuous situation in the DRC”

The political situation of Modeste Bahati Lukwebo, national president and moral authority of the AFDC-A, is currently tumultuous. As a leading ally of President Félix Tshisekedi, the president of the senate occupies a central position in the Sacred Union for the Nation in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

We should not underestimate the essential political role of Modeste Bahati Lukwebo in the overthrow of the FCC-CACH alliance for the benefit of this new ruling coalition. His contribution allowed President Félix Tshisekedi to benefit from significant room for maneuver. However, allegations regarding the ethical behavior of Professor Mbata, first vice-president of the national assembly and permanent secretary of the USN, against Modeste Bahati Lukwebo have emerged, casting a shadow over some of his partners who could plot against his leadership.

Professor Mbata, whose voice was identified in an audio recording circulating on social networks, is accused of obstructing the appointment of a judge to the Constitutional Court on behalf of the president of the senate. This situation arouses strong emotion for two reasons. First of all, it reveals an alleged conflict at the top of the legislative power between the vice-presidency of the National Assembly and the presidency of the Senate. Then, it reveals an unhealthy jealousy on the part of the permanent secretary of the ruling coalition towards one of the most faithful allies of President Félix Tshisekedi. This situation potentially threatens trust and loyalty within the coalition as President Tshisekedi begins his second term.

However, the political career of Modeste Bahati Lukwebo pleads in his favor. He navigated with integrity through changing regimes and tumultuous times, remaining faithful to his commitments. His ability to unite and discipline his political group is undeniable, making him a pillar of political stability in the DRC. It is therefore essential to fully recognize the political contribution of Modeste Bahati Lukwebo.

Of course, it is essential to be critical if one’s actions are against the law. However, it is equally important to recognize his influence and ability to maintain cohesion within his political group, lead the Senate and provide stability within a heterogeneous political coalition. Ultimately, the treatment of Modeste Bahati Lukwebo should take into account both his political contributions and his ability to embody stability in an often turbulent political sphere. Those who bet on a reduction in its political influence or on a possible elimination of its sphere of power are seriously mistaken.

You don’t survive that long on the Congolese political scene without being a dominant player. Modest Bahati Lukwebo is not a careerist. He is the “Congolese Cassius” of the Marineland Crocodile Park on Green Island in Australia. For information, he holds two doctorates in applied economics, one in finance and banking from the University of Milan and the other in accounting from Bircham International University. He already held the position of first vice-president of the Finance, Banking and Currency committee of the Sovereign National Conference in 1991.

It is therefore essential to recognize the political contribution of Modeste Bahati Lukwebo and not to underestimate his role in the political stability of the DRC.
