The tragedy continues on the RN17 in Kwamouth, where the Mobondo militia has resumed its violence. The villages of Masiambio, Bebes, Bunsele, and others were deserted by the inhabitants, frightened by the advance of the militia. The soldiers, sent to counter the Mobondo, faced deadly attacks, and on their return, panic gripped the population.
Faced with this critical situation, women, children and travelers stranded in Bebes regrouped on the RN17, trying to reach Kinshasa, the capital located more than 20 km away.
