Electoral campaign in the DRC: Djugu, a territory neglected by deputy candidates
Since the start of the electoral campaign in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), the territory of Djugu in the province of Ituri seems to be neglected by the deputy candidates. Indeed, according to a statistic published by the coordination of the resolute associative coalition for the defense of human rights (COARDHO), only 5% of candidates made their propaganda in this region.
The COARDHO ONGDH, which closely followed the progress of the electoral campaign in Djugu, is calling on the candidates who have not yet presented their social projects. She asks them to do it as soon as possible, before the end of this special period.
The coordinator of COARDHO ONGDH, Ngabu Ngandru Benjamin, underlines the importance for candidates to present their social projects in order to allow voters to make an informed choice. He also encourages them to explain the role of MPs at all levels.
At the same time, COARDHO ONGDH calls on the population of Djugu to go massively to the polls to choose a candidate who will bring peace, security and promote the interests of the region at the national and international level.
The weak presence of candidates in Djugu during the campaign is explained both by the lack of funding from political parties and groups, as well as by the precarious security situation in certain parts of the region.
Despite the lull observed for some time in Djugu, which could have favored better coverage of the electoral campaign, it is therefore important that the candidates redouble their efforts to mobilize voters and present their proposals.
Stay informed and make an informed choice
It is essential for voters in Djugu to closely follow the candidates’ proposals and learn about their social projects. This will allow them to choose the candidate who best represents their interests and aspirations.
