“Record mobilization of public revenue in the DRC: More than 3,049.1 billion CDF collected in November 2023!”

The mobilization of public revenues in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) reached impressive figures during the month of November 2023. According to data from the Central Bank of Congo (BCC), the government’s tax services managed to collect 3,049.1 billion Congolese Francs (CDF), or more than 1.2 billion US dollars, thus exceeding initial forecasts which expected revenues of 1,935.7 billion CDF.

These revenues were mobilized by the country’s financial authorities, with the Directorate General of Taxes (DGI) in the lead, which contributed CDF 1,437.9 billion. The General Directorate of Customs and Excise (DGDA) also played an important role in collecting 460.5 billion CDF. As for the General Directorate of Administrative Revenue (DGRAD), its revenues totaled 250.2 billion CDF.

This high level of public revenue mobilization demonstrates the effectiveness of the DRC’s revenue services and their ability to generate significant revenue for the government. This is crucial to financing the country’s development programs, improving public services and ensuring economic stability.

However, it should be emphasized that revenue mobilization should not come at the expense of transparency and accountability. It is essential that public revenues are managed responsibly and their use transparent, to avoid any risk of corruption or mismanagement.

The mobilization of public revenues in the DRC is a major challenge for the country’s development. It is therefore important to continue to strengthen the capacity of tax services, improve revenue management and ensure that the funds collected are used efficiently and transparently. This will stimulate economic growth, reduce poverty and improve the well-being of Congolese citizens.

In conclusion, the high level of public revenue mobilization in November 2023 in the DRC is good news for the country. However, it is crucial to maintain this momentum and ensure transparent and accountable management of the funds collected. This will contribute to the development of the country and the well-being of its population.
