Agriculture, an essential lever for economic and social development, is at the heart of the concerns of President candidate Félix Tshisekedi in the Democratic Republic of Congo. During a meeting held in Lubumbashi, in the Haut-Katanga province, he promised to revive this strategic sector once re-elected.
The president candidate recognized that agriculture had been neglected in the past and pledged to use it as an instrument to reduce unemployment by creating jobs. He underlined the importance of the development program of the 145 territories to stimulate the country’s growth, with particular emphasis on the construction of agricultural service roads.
In addition to the revival of agriculture, Félix Tshisekedi recalled other achievements of his current mandate, such as free education and universal health coverage. These measures made it possible to improve the dignity, pride and honor of the Congolese.
Alongside his commitments to agriculture, the president candidate also promised to end the war that has raged in the east of the country for more than thirty years. He wants to use the country’s resources to achieve peace and stability in this region.
Félix Tshisekedi’s visit to Lubumbashi was preceded by that of Prime Minister Jean-Michel Sama Lukonde, who called on the population to vote massively for candidate number 20. Sama Lukonde stressed the importance of granting a landslide victory to Tshisekedi during the elections of December 20, 2023.
This determination to revive agriculture and end the conflict in the east of the country demonstrates the president candidate’s commitment to transforming the Democratic Republic of Congo into a prosperous and peaceful nation.
