The Ambassador of Japan to the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Minami Hiro, and the National Coordinator of the Madama Foundation (FOMAD), Sandra Chondo Madama, recently signed a donation contract for the “Extension of the Kinsala Institute in the commune of N’Sele”. This initiative is part of Japan’s non-repayable donation to local micro-projects contributing to human security.
The project consists of the extension of the Kinsala Institute by the construction of a new building including four classrooms, two workshops, an office and latrines. In addition, it also provides for the provision of educational equipment and the establishment of professional training programs. The goal is to create a healthy and improved educational environment for students and teachers.
During the signing ceremony, the Japanese Ambassador stressed the importance of education and training of human resources in the notion of “human security”. He also recalled that Japan provides support, but that the implementation of the project is the responsibility of FOMAD and all stakeholders. He encouraged the beneficiaries to become aware of their role as the main actor in the development of their community.
For their part, the beneficiaries expressed their gratitude to the Japanese Embassy for this donation which will contribute to the well-being of the children of the Kinsala Institute.
