The importance of the educational effort of representatives of religions among young people
In a context marked by recent demonstrations against anti-Semitism in France, President Emmanuel Macron met with representatives of religions to discuss the importance of educational efforts among young people. The objective is to explain and transmit republican values to avoid any process of victimized competition and build a united society, based on respect and tolerance.
This approach is part of the desire to raise awareness among young people of the universalist spirit of our country. Indeed, many young people are no longer connected to traditional media and tend to lock themselves into their own communication circles. It is therefore essential to meet them, explain to them the values of the Republic and encourage them to open up to others, without stigmatization or exclusion.
The representatives of religions welcomed this initiative and committed to relaying this word to young people. They stressed the importance of creating a dialogue based on listening and mutual respect. Indeed, no one can retreat into their individual suffering, at the risk of fragmenting society and undermining national unity.
The question of the presence of Muslim representatives during demonstrations against anti-Semitism was also addressed. The rector of the Grand Mosque of Paris, Chems-Eddine Hafiz, clarified that the fight against anti-Semitism is a priority for the Paris Mosque. However, he stressed that the fight against racism as a whole is equally important. It is therefore necessary to combat all forms of discrimination and promote mutual understanding between different religious communities.
Finally, President Macron recalled in a letter published in Le Parisien that France must remain united behind its values of universalism and work for peace and security for all in the Middle East. He strongly condemned the resurgence of anti-Semitism and stressed that France cannot afford to have fellow Jewish citizens living in fear.
In conclusion, the educational effort of representatives of religions among young people is a major issue in preserving republican values and promoting the construction of a united society. It is essential to promote mutual understanding, respect and tolerance between different religious communities. This requires active listening, an open mind and a collective desire to confront all forms of discrimination.
