“Denise Nyakeru Tshisekedi Foundation: Promoting academic excellence and providing higher education opportunities to young people in Haut Katanga”

The CAS-INFO article highlights the initiative of the Denise Nyakeru Tshisekedi Foundation, which brings together students from Haut Katanga to raise awareness of the EXCELLENTIA program. The objective of this program is to promote academic excellence among young people and provide them with opportunities for higher education through scholarships. The President of the Foundation informed the students of the importance of this commitment for the development of the country and encouraged them to surpass themselves to achieve the results necessary to obtain a scholarship.

In addition to promoting academic excellence, the event also focused on raising awareness about sickle cell disease, a genetic disease that affects many people around the world. The President insisted on the importance of getting tested and taking preventive measures to counter this disease which affects not only individuals, but also families and society as a whole.

The EXCELLENTIA program, which is already in its 4th edition, has already been able to offer scholarships to 241 students, some of whom have been able to continue their studies abroad. This initiative aims to award 1000 local scholarships and 100 international scholarships over a period of 10 years, with the aim of encouraging academic excellence and giving young people the means to pursue quality education.

By involving scholarship recipients from previous editions in this event, the Foundation gave the students present a concrete example of success and accomplishment, showing them that with effort and determination, they can also achieve ambitious goals.
