Renovation of the Mabanga Center in Kinshasa: Denise Nyakeru Tshisekedi ensures the progress of the work

Kinshasa, September 7, 2023 – The first lady of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Denise Nyakeru Tshisekedi, carried out an inspection visit to check the progress of the renovation work of the Center for Mixed Medicine and Anemia, commonly known as the Mabanga Center. This health structure, dedicated to the care of patients with sickle cell anemia, was closed 7 months ago to allow its complete rehabilitation.

The objective of this visit was to ensure that the work progresses according to the established schedule and that the Mabanga Center will be able to reopen its doors next October. Thanks to the efforts of the first lady and the financial support of the Denise Nyakeru Tshisekedi Foundation, the renovation of the center is progressing quickly and patients will soon be able to benefit from modern facilities that meet the strictest health standards.

In addition to renovating existing infrastructure, the work will also allow the addition of new medical services, such as ophthalmology and dentistry, to meet the needs of patients. This initiative aims to improve the care of sickle cell patients by providing an environment conducive to their treatment and by strengthening the capacities of medical staff.

The Denise Nyakeru Tshisekedi Foundation, in collaboration with local and international partners, is actively engaged in the fight against sickle cell disease by raising awareness among the population of the importance of early detection and supporting patient care structures.
