Elections in the DRC in 2023: Shock statement from the president of the ADLF questioning their holding and criticizing the record of President Tshisekedi

The organization of general elections in the Democratic Republic of Congo in 2023 is the subject of a declaration by Emmanuel Mutali Mwepu, president of the political party “Activists for democracy, liberalism and federalism” (ADLF). In his statement addressed to the Congolese population, Mwepu expressed his pessimism about the holding of elections in December 2023, highlighting the problems linked to voting machines and the proliferation of non-indigenous candidates.

The president of the ADLF also invites the population to remain vigilant and ready to prevent any attempt at electoral fraud. He also criticizes the results of President Félix Antoine Tshisekedi’s first five-year term, blaming his entourage for their embezzlement of public funds, their cronyism and their incompetence.

Emmanuel Mutali Mwepu also raises the broken promises by President Tshisekedi, citing non-existent projects such as the Tshilejelu affair and the Kalambambuji road. He calls on the population to sanction all those involved in the misappropriation of public funds and encourages President Tshisekedi to distance himself from those around him who are incapable of supporting him objectively.

However, it is important to note that this statement constitutes only one point of view among others and does not necessarily reflect the general opinion on the political situation in the DRC. It is essential to have a balanced view and take into account several perspectives to get a clear picture of the situation.

It remains to be seen whether general elections will take place as planned in December 2023 and what impact these statements will have on the Congolese political landscape.
