The Constitutional Court of the DRC rejects the request against the candidacy of Moïse Katumbi in the presidential election

The Constitutional Court of the Democratic Republic of Congo rejected the petition of Junior Mansanga Tshivuadi against the candidacy of Moïse Katumbi in the presidential election of December 20. This was announced by the spokesperson for the political party Ensemble pour la République, Maître Hervé Diakiese.

According to the information provided, the Court declared Tshivuadi’s request “inadmissible” because the person concerned himself claimed not to have seized the Constitutional Court in dispute over his candidacy. The decision of the Constitutional Court thus puts an end to attempts to call into question the candidacy of Moïse Katumbi.

The petition filed by Junior Mansanga Tshivuadi alleged several accusations against Moïse Katumbi, including acts of corruption, embezzlement and falsification of contracts. However, the Constitutional Court found these accusations unfounded and inadmissible.

This decision by the Constitutional Court paves the way for Moïse Katumbi’s candidacy in the presidential election, thus allowing him to continue his campaign and present his political project to Congolese voters.

It is important to note that this decision by the Constitutional Court comes in a tense political context in the DRC, marked by disputes and rivalries between the different presidential candidates. Clarifying the legal situation of Moïse Katumbi’s candidacy therefore contributes to easing tensions and guaranteeing a transparent and democratic electoral process.

In conclusion, the Constitutional Court of the DRC rejected the request of Junior Mansanga Tshivuadi against the candidacy of Moïse Katumbi. This decision confirms the legitimacy of Katumbi’s candidacy for the presidential election and helps ensure a transparent and democratic electoral process for the Congolese people.
