“The call for sacred union: Congolese political figures encouraged to support Denis Mukwege for the presidency”

The presidential elections in the Democratic Republic of Congo continue to arouse the interest and participation of many political actors. Recently, a circular note was distributed by several citizen structures calling on influential figures from the Sacred Union, notably Bahati Lukwebo and Vital Kamerhe, to support the candidacy of Denis Mukwege.

In this correspondence, the authors highlight the unjust acts that Vital Kamerhe and Bahati Lukwebo allegedly faced during the mandate of Félix Tshisekedi. They therefore believe that it is time to form a solid alliance to save the Congolese nation by uniting the forces of the UNC and the AFDC around Denis Mukwege.

The appeal launched by these citizen structures highlights the vulnerability of politicians in the face of slander and humiliation. It also highlights the need to stand together in support of figures such as Denis Mukwege, who have shown remarkable dedication to the well-being of the country.

It should be noted that twenty-four candidates have already submitted their candidacy for the presidency, among which we find media personalities such as Félix Tshisekedi, Moïse Katumbi, Denis Mukwege, Augustin Matata Ponyo, Adolphe Muzito and Delly Sessanga.

This presidential race in the Democratic Republic of Congo therefore continues to arouse the attention and hope of the Congolese people, who are seeking strong and committed leadership for the construction of a better future. Let us remain attentive to future developments and the decisions taken by the various political actors.
