Roche and the Denise Nyakeru Tshisekedi Foundation join forces for health in the DRC

Swiss pharmaceutical firm Roche recently signed a partnership with the Denise Nyakeru Tshisekedi Foundation as part of their shared commitment to improve health in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). This collaboration aims to strengthen the capacities of the SS Mixed Medicine and Anemia Center (Mabanga) by providing high quality laboratory equipment.

But this partnership goes beyond the simple supply of equipment. It also aims to raise awareness and screen for female cancers, such as breast and cervical cancer, in the DRC. Roche and the DNT Foundation will also support access to quality blood, by providing diagnostic equipment and organizing blood drives for sickle cell clinics and maternity wards.

The partnership was officially signed in the presence of the Swiss Ambassador to the DRC, thus underlining Switzerland’s commitment in the field of health. The President of the DNT Foundation underlined the urgency of fighting cancer in the DRC, where diagnosis is often late, making treatment more difficult. She said she was proud of this partnership which will increase awareness of women’s health and provide more equipment to improve the quality of blood in health establishments.

Roche, as one of the world’s largest biotechnology companies, is strongly committed to providing access to reliable diagnostics for all and the fight against cancer. The General Manager of Roche DRC and Central Africa stressed the importance of co-creation and collaboration with all partners to find sustainable solutions for the Congolese population.

This partnership between Roche and the Denise Nyakeru Tshisekedi Foundation could also extend to other provinces in the DRC, with the aim of improving the health of the entire population.

In conclusion, this partnership between Roche and the DNT Foundation is an important step in the fight against diseases, particularly female cancers, in the Democratic Republic of Congo. It demonstrates the commitment of stakeholders in the health sector to work together to improve care and raise awareness among the population.
