According to information provided by Primera Gold, these exports were made in two shipments, the last of which took place during the weekend of October 13-14. During this last shipment, 125.542 kg of gold from artisanal mining were shipped.
These exports are in addition to a first shipment of 100.319 kg made at the beginning of the month, bringing the total to 225.861 kg for the month of October.
Since its creation in December 2022, Primera Gold has been able to set up a banking system in the process of purchasing and selling artisanal gold, which has contributed to the fight against mining fraud, particularly in the provinces of Eastern DRC, often affected by insecurity.
The success of Primera Gold is a strong signal for the artisanal gold sector in the DRC. Not only does the company manage to develop strong partnerships with the United Arab Emirates, which is one of the largest gold trading centers in the world, but it also helps stimulate the Congolese economy by creating opportunities for artisanal miners.
This record export highlights the DRC’s potential as a gold producer and highlights the crucial role of international partnerships in supporting the development of the mining sector in the country.
These impressive performances by Primera Gold also demonstrate investor confidence in the Congolese gold market, and open up new prospects for artisanal mining in the country.
In conclusion, Primera Gold’s record gold export to the United Arab Emirates in October 2023 is concrete proof of the success of this joint venture between the DRC and the UAE. This performance demonstrates the potential of the DRC as a gold producer and opens new opportunities for the development of artisanal mining in the country.
