The objective of this visit was to ensure that the work is progressing according to the planned schedule, with a view to the upcoming reopening of this health structure.
A Mabanga Center renovated to health standards:
After 7 months of work, the Mabanga Center is about to resume its activities, thus offering a renovated environment and meeting the strictest health standards. Thanks to this work, additional services, such as ophthalmology and dentistry, will now be available to meet the needs of patients. This renovation will also improve the care of sickle cell patients, the only condition treated by the Mabanga Center.
The first lady’s commitment to the fight against sickle cell disease:
The renovation of the Mabanga Center is part of the efforts of the first lady, Denise Nyakeru Tshisekedi, in the fight against sickle cell disease in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Last February, it launched this rehabilitation and modernization work in order to provide a conducive environment for patients suffering from this genetic disease.
