“Ibola and Mafumba: an age-old land conflict finally finds its peaceful resolution thanks to the reconciliation of the villages”

Reconciliation between the inhabitants of the localities of Ibola and Mafumba in the chiefdom of Katshisungu in the territory of Luilu is finally a reality. After long years of quarrels and land conflicts, the villagers decided to put an end to their differences and find a peaceful solution thanks to the intervention of the territorial administrator.

These two villages were in conflict due to a dispute over two savannahs, including that of the Protestant mission of Kasha. A territorial commission of inquiry was set up to resolve this dispute, and the conclusions of their report made it possible to determine that the locality of Ibola existed before that of Mafumba. The territorial boundaries were identified and it was proven that these had been intentionally changed by one of the parties.

A copy of the resolutions taken by the commission was sent to the representatives of the two villages, and advice was provided to ensure lasting peace between the inhabitants. The territorial administrator is happy to have succeeded in reconciling these two localities and underlines the importance of peaceful cohabitation.

This example of reconciliation demonstrates that even the oldest and deepest conflicts can find a peaceful solution when the parties involved are ready to dialogue and resolve their differences constructively. Hopefully this reconciliation serves as an inspiration to other communities facing similar conflicts.

It is important to promote the peaceful resolution of conflicts and raise awareness among populations of the importance of dialogue and mutual understanding. Peace and harmony within a community are essential to ensure the well-being of all its members and promote social and economic development.
