FDNT 2023 selection test: encouraging academic excellence in the DRC with the Excellentia scholarship
The 5th edition of the selection test for the Excellentia scholarship, organized by the National Talent Development Fund (FDNT), took place on Wednesday October 11, 2023 at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Kinshasa. This event attracted the attention of the first lady of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Denise Nyakeru Tshisekedi, who went there to encourage the candidates.
A total of 234 out of 254 eligible students from the Ministry of Primary, Secondary and Technical Education participated in this test. These candidates came from different cities in the DRC such as Lodja, Tshikapa, Kananga, Mbuji-Mayi, Goma, Lubumbashi, Mbanza-Ngungu and Kinshasa. The test consisted of one hundred questions and required a minimum score of 70% to be eligible for the Excellentia scholarship.
It should be noted that only finalists who obtained at least 85% in the Exetat, the secondary school leaving exam in the DRC, were selected to take this test. The Excellentia scholarship offers full support for university studies for five years, whether abroad or in the DRC.
Since its creation, the Excellentia Program has already awarded 241 scholarships, including 82 students enrolled in foreign universities and 159 students in the DRC. This program aims to encourage and support academic excellence by offering talented students the opportunity to pursue their higher education in the best conditions.
The visit of the first lady underlined the importance of this initiative and encouraged the winners of the 2023 edition to give the best of themselves to be part of the Excellentia scholarship holders.
This FDNT 2023 selection test thus marks a crucial step in the academic career of many young Congolese and constitutes a real opportunity for those who aspire to success and excellence in their studies.
