The construction of National Road No. 1 opens the way to the development of Kasai Oriental

The importance of National Road No. 1 in the development of Kasai Oriental

The province of Kasai Oriental in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) is currently experiencing major development with the construction of National Road No. 1 in its main city, Mbuji-Mayi. This infrastructure achievement is of paramount importance for economic growth and the well-being of the province’s residents.

The General Inspectorate of Finance (IGF) recently deployed a control mission to ensure the effectiveness of the execution works on this road. Led by Inspector Mujinga Mpenga, this IGF team met the governor of the province to share the objectives of their mission. According to Inspector Mpenga, this mission aims to assess the progress of work on the RN1 as well as other projects opened in the city.

This monitoring mission comes following concerns expressed by the interim governor of the province, Julie Kalenga Kabongo, about the lack of funding for works of community interest. During her visit to the IGF in Kinshasa, she raised the question of financing the Industry Promotion Fund (FPI), which is crucial for the realization of projects such as the construction of the RN1, schools and hospitals.

The head of the IGF department, Jules Alingete, reassured the governor by affirming that the necessary funds would be sent to allow the work to continue normally. In order to verify this assertion, the IGF control mission was dispatched to the field.

The construction of National Road No. 1 in Kasai Oriental is of great importance for several reasons. First of all, this road will facilitate the movement of people and goods, thus promoting trade and economic development in the region. In addition, it will improve accessibility to basic social services such as education and health, by allowing better access to schools and hospitals.

In addition, the construction of this road will contribute to improving road safety, by reducing the risk of accidents due to the degraded state of the traffic lanes. By offering safer driving conditions, the RN1 will save lives and preserve the physical integrity of road users.

In conclusion, the IGF control mission and the construction of National Road No. 1 in Kasai Oriental are major advances for the province. They are sources of hope and development prospects for the inhabitants of Mbuji-Mayi and the entire region. It is essential that the works are carried out efficiently and transparently to ensure the success of this undertaking and maximize the benefits for the population.
