New Zealand-DRC: on which channel and at what time to follow the Leopards?
International football is back with a friendly match between New Zealand and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), which will take place this Friday, October 13. This match will be followed by a derby for the Leopards against Angola next week.
The match will be held at the Nueva Condomina Stadium, located in Murcia, Spain, in front of 31,000 spectators. Kick-off will be at 6 p.m. local time, which corresponds to 5 p.m. in Kinshasa, 7 p.m. in the east and 5 a.m. in New Zealand. Congolese fans will be able to follow the match live and in full on RTNC.
DRC coach Sébastien Desabre made bold decisions by calling up four new players for this October gathering. Among them, we find Dimitry Bertaud, the replacement goalkeeper for Montpellier, as well as Simon Banza, former RC Lens player and currently with Braga. The addition of Grady Diangana, former England international, and Brian Bayeye, a talented player, shows Desabre’s desire to rejuvenate the team in view of important events such as the African Cup of Nations (CAN) in 2023 and the World Cup qualifiers in 2026.
Unfortunately, a few absences should be noted, notably that of Yoane Wissa and Gaël Kakuta, who suffers from a sprained ankle. However, the return of Ben Malango is good news for the Leopards who will also be able to count on the experience of their senior players such as Cédric Bakambu and Chancel Mbemba.
This friendly match will be an opportunity for the DRC to prepare for its upcoming matches and to test new talents. The Leopards are more determined than ever to show their potential and give themselves the means to shine in future competitions. It remains to be seen whether New Zealand will be a real test for the Congolese team. Supporters can’t wait to see their players in action and hope for a great performance from their favorite team.
