The General Director of the Cultural Promotion Fund (FPC), Barbara Kanam, recently highlighted the increase in revenues of her establishment during the 7th edition of Expo-Béton in Kolwezi (Lualaba). This event, which was held from September 30 to October 4, allowed Barbara Kanam to promote the role of the FPC as a lever for the economic growth of the DRC.
During this five-day forum, the Director General also raised awareness among architects and economic operators of the importance of paying the “Ad valorem” fee. This approach aims to guarantee fair remuneration for actors in the cultural sector and to support the sustainable development of the Congolese cultural industry.
The theme of this edition of Expo-Béton, entitled “Kolwezi-Lualaba, Eldorado of the Southern Corridor of the DRC-SADC”, focused on urban development and infrastructure linked to multimodal transport, housing, energy supply, industry, the consolidation of economic relations and regional integration. The closing of the event was honored by the presence of the Head of State, Félix Tshisekedi.
It should be remembered that Barbara Kanam had already called on the media to pay the royalties owed to the FPC last August. This awareness-raising is part of an approach aimed at strengthening the establishment’s income and ensuring the sustainability of its actions in favor of the promotion of Congolese culture.
In conclusion, the participation of the Director General of the FPC, Barbara Kanam, in this year’s edition of Expo-Béton demonstrates her commitment to promoting the economic and cultural role of her establishment. Thanks to its efforts, the FPC can become a key player in the economic growth of the DRC and support the sustainable development of the country’s cultural industry.
