Title: The Hennessy cognac house transforms a basketball court into a work of art: the “In The Paint” initiative

Introduction :
The Hennessy cognac house is known not only for its delicious spirits, but also for its commitment to local communities and artists. As part of its “In The Paint” project, Hennessy recently inaugurated a unique art installation on a basketball court at the Lemba cultural center. This initiative, launched for the first time in 2021 in Montreal and now present in several countries, aims to support the arts and sport. In this article, we will discover the artist who created the work, his inspiration and the inauguration of this fascinating creation.

The talent of Eliam Artist:
It was thanks to its partner Kub’Art Gallery, highlighting contemporary urban art artists, that Hennessy discovered Eliam Artist, a young prodigy of Congolese street art. Eliam is a multidisciplinary artist who travels through urban cultures, merging different styles of expression. Its mission is to preserve and integrate African cultural and historical elements into the urban world. His collaboration with Hennessy led him to transform the basketball court of the Lemba cultural center into a true work of art.

The work “Kuba Kingdom”:
The work created by Eliam Artist is entitled “Kuba Kingdom” and takes its inspiration from the artistic and cultural diversity of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). It highlights the ancestral heritage of KUBA fabrics, known for their unique tribal patterns. At the center of the work is a leopard, emblem of the DRC, symbolizing the strength and power of the country. The colors chosen reflect the richness of the country’s natural resources. We also find the iconic “armed arm” of the Hennessy house, a symbol of its history and expertise. Every detail of the work testifies to the richness of urban and local cultures.

The inauguration and special guests:
The unveiling of the work was a moment of celebration and pride for the community. Among the guests, we found Joakim Noah, famous basketball player engaged in social and charitable actions, as well as Innoss’B, a Congolese music star. Both witnessed this magnificent fresco, considered one of the most beautiful artistic achievements in the DRC. Their presence reinforced Hennessy’s commitment to local communities and the importance of supporting talented artists.

Conclusion :
With its “In The Paint” project, Hennessy demonstrates its support for the arts, sport and local communities. The transformation of the basketball court into a work of art by artist Eliam Artist is a true renaissance for the Lemba cultural center. This initiative illustrates Hennessy’s commitment to promoting urban art and preserving local cultures. The inauguration of this work was an opportunity to celebrate Congolese artistic talent and to strengthen the links between Hennessy, artists and communities.
