Provincial deputy Alexis Bahunga, elected from the territory of Masisi, in North Kivu in the Democratic Republic of Congo, recently denounced irregularities contained in a ministerial decree appointing sector heads. In a letter addressed to the Attorney General at the Court of Cassation, he accuses the Minister of Decentralization, Eustache Muhanzi Mubembe, of forgery.
One of the main irregularities raised by Alexis Bahunga concerns the designation of a traditional chief allegedly in the Katoy sector in the Masisi territory. He affirms that this sector leader, named Bigembe, is not part of the customary lineage of the territory. In addition, the MP denounces the appointment of a person who died more than four months ago as sector head of Osso.
