Official press release: Ban on the importation of beer, soft drinks and gray cement in the DRC – Economic measures to strengthen the local industry

Official press release: Ban on importing beers, soft drinks and gray cement into the DRC

The Kongo-Central Provincial Government recently recalled in a press release that the importation of beers, soft drinks and gray cement is strictly prohibited in the Democratic Republic of Congo. This decision is part of economic measures aimed at reducing the country’s dependence on imports and protecting local industry.

Unfortunately, despite this clearly established ban, the sale and circulation of these products persist in the province. Faced with this situation, the provincial executive has sent a final warning to all people who illegally import, sell and transport these products.

Anne-Marie Tsasa, spokesperson for the Kongo-Central provincial government, recalled that border services are invited to actively fight against this fraudulent practice. Recalcitrants now face legal action and will be held responsible for their actions.

This decision aims to strengthen the local economy by encouraging the consumption of products manufactured in the region. By limiting imports, the government hopes to create an environment conducive to the development and growth of Congolese industries, thereby promoting job creation and stimulating the national economy.

It is essential that all economic actors respect this ban and cooperate with the authorities to ensure the success of this economic policy. By supporting local industry, we are all contributing to building a strong and sustainable economy for the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Compliance with this ban is essential to guarantee the economic development of the province and the country as a whole. It is time to promote and consume Congolese products, for the good of all and to ensure a prosperous future for our nation.

Let us show responsibility and support initiatives aimed at strengthening our economy. Together we can transform Congo into an autonomous and prosperous nation.
