The establishment of Félix Tshisekedi’s presidential campaign teams was officially announced during a press briefing held in Kinshasa. François Muamba Tshishimbi, Coordinator of the Presidential Strategic Monitoring Council, affirmed that President Tshisekedi had entrusted the coordination of his campaign to his Reflection and Action Group, also known as the “Strong Team”.
These campaign teams will be deployed gradually throughout the country, from regions to provinces, including territories and cities. The objective is to guarantee inclusive, transparent and credible elections to consolidate the still fragile democracy of the Democratic Republic of Congo.
The Coordinator of the “Strong Team” also underlined that Félix Tshisekedi kept his promise to make 2023 an electoral year, with the organization of multiple ballots at all levels. This decision is in accordance with the electoral calendar established by the Independent National Electoral Commission (CENI), published in November 2022.
François Muamba also announced that President Tshisekedi was actively working on his assessment as well as his vision for the future of the nation. He is ready to share these achievements with his compatriots as soon as the electoral campaign officially opens.
This announcement marks an important step in the preparation of the upcoming presidential election in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The establishment of campaign teams shows Félix Tshisekedi’s commitment to strengthening democracy and promoting free and fair elections in the country.
It now remains to observe how this campaign will unfold and what forces will be present in the presidential race. The coming months are sure to be filled with interest and suspense for Congolese citizens, who will have the opportunity to choose their next leader in December’s presidential elections.
