FC Lupopo eliminated from CAF Confederation Cup
Congolese football club FC Lupopo suffered a disappointing elimination from the CAF Confederation Cup. During the match on Sunday October 1, the team had to settle for a one-goal draw against Sekhukhune United from Polokwane, South Africa.
FC Lupopo took the lead by opening the score in the 19th minute thanks to a penalty scored by Bola Lobota. The players returned to the locker room with this small lead.
However, upon their return to the field, South Africans Sekhukhune United managed to equalize in the 60th minute thanks to a goal from Thiclas Tucla. Despite all efforts, the score remained unchanged until the final whistle from Ugandan referee Chelanget Sabila.
Unfortunately, this draw sealed the elimination of FC Lupopo from the competition. However, Sekhukhune United qualify for the CAF Confederation Cup play-off round.
FC Lupopo will now have to focus on the DRC National Football Championship in Group A. They will face teams such as TP Mazembe, Lubumbashi Sport, Groupe Bazano, FC Blessing and others.
This elimination is a hard blow for FC Lupopo, but the team will have to remobilize and continue to fight nationally to achieve their goals. Football is like that, with ups and downs, but only perseverance and hard work will allow FC Lupopo to bounce back and recover from this elimination.
