The file of Franck Diongo, President of the Mouvement Lumumbiste Progressiste (MLP) political party, for his candidacy for the Presidential election on December 20, 2023, was registered this Wednesday, September 27. The Applications Reception and Processing Office (BRTC), at the headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission (CENI), thus received his request.
As part of his candidacy, Franck Diongo had an interview with the president of the CENI, Dénis Kadima Kazadi. During this meeting, the president of the MLP expressed his motivations, emphasizing that the hour of rupture had come, aiming to rehabilitate the Congo in its greatness and the Congolese in their dignity.
Franck Diongo also expressed his position regarding the CENI, saying he wanted to see it at work. He advocates for transparent elections, where the result truly reflects the will of voters. It underlines the importance of impartiality, neutrality and independence of the body responsible for organizing the elections to guarantee acceptance of the results by all.
In his speech, Franck Diongo insists on the need for electoral transparency throughout the electoral process. He wants each phase to be correct, fair and sincere, so that the proclaimed result is truly representative of the vote of Congolese citizens.
This approach by Franck Diongo for his candidacy for the Presidential election testifies to his desire for change and his commitment to restoring the greatness of the Congo and the dignity of its inhabitants. By advocating for transparent elections, he affirms his determination to establish governance with integrity and to guarantee that the people’s choice is respected.
However, it is now up to the CENI to implement these principles of electoral transparency and organize fair and honest elections. The credibility of the electoral process will depend on it and will have a significant impact on the confidence of the Congolese in their government and their democratic system.
The submission of Franck Diongo’s candidacy therefore marks the start of a new stage in the electoral process in the Democratic Republic of Congo, and it remains to be seen how this will unfold and what the outcome will be. The upcoming elections will be a real test for the CENI and for the democratic future of the country.
