In a correspondence dated September 27, the Minister of State, Adèle Kayinda, asked all directors general and deputy directors general, candidates for the next elections on December 20, to send their letter of resignation no later than Saturday September 30 2023.

This request follows the provisions of Article 10, point 5 of Law No. 06/006 of March 9, 2006 which stipulates that any active public official candidate for elections must submit their letter of resignation by the deadline for submitting candidacies. to the independent national electoral commission (CENI) to be eligible.

However, the state minister expressed disappointment that no notice of resignation from the concerned public officers was sent to her.

The CENI has already published the final list of candidates selected for the race for the next legislature at the national level and should soon publish the list of candidates for the provincial legislature.
