In a difficult international context, Prime Minister Jean-Michel Sama Lukonde presented the 2024 Draft Budget to the National Assembly this Friday, September 29, 2023. The draft budget:

The Finance Bill for the 2024 financial year amounts to 40,464 billion Congolese Francs (CDF), an increase of 24.7% compared to the budget of the previous year. It consists of a general budget of 36,470 billion CDF, ancillary budgets of 705 billion CDF and special accounts of 3,289 billion CDF.

The recipes :

Revenues from the 2024 Budget are distributed between internal revenues, representing 67.3% of the general budget, and external revenues, representing 32.7%. Internal revenues consist of current revenues of 23,668 billion CDF and exceptional revenues of 881 billion CDF.

Resource mobilization efforts:

The Government plans to mobilize more resources by broadening the tax base, taxing the informal sector, fighting corruption and continuing tax and customs reforms. These measures aim to increase the tax burden and strengthen public resources.

Budget highlights:

The 2024 Draft Budget provides for a significant increase in credits allocated to investments, with an increase of 54% compared to the previous year. This will make it possible to continue the major projects initiated by the President of the Republic, such as the Local Development Program-145 Territories, the construction of the deep water port of Banana, the rehabilitation of provincial airports and the construction of social housing.
