“The emergence of new sporting talents: Kinshasa strengthens its sports infrastructure with the construction of local stadiums”

Projects to build local stadiums in Kinshasa have been at the heart of discussions in recent days. While the Congolese capital already has legendary stadiums such as the Stade des Martyrs and the Stade Tata Raphaël, it became obvious that it was necessary to provide the city with local sports infrastructure. It is with this in mind that the director of the French development agency, Safia Ibrahim, met François Kabulo Mwana Kabulo, Minister of Sports and Leisure.

This ambitious project includes the design, procurement, installation, testing and commissioning of various infrastructure elements. The objective is to rehabilitate certain grounds in order to transform them into modern local stadiums. Among the five pitches that will be renovated, we find the Germany pitch in Bandalungwa, the PNC pitch in Lingwala, as well as two pitches in the commune of N’sele. A dedicated rugby field is also planned.

The emphasis will be placed on women’s sport, with the construction of facilities which will encourage the sporting practice of girls and women. In addition to the fields themselves, the project includes the construction of changing rooms located above the stands, as well as recording studios. These studios will allow athletes to benefit from medical monitoring and individualized training, thus contributing to their development and performance.

This initiative is part of a desire to promote local sport and encourage sports practice in the neighborhoods of Kinshasa. By offering modern and accessible infrastructure, these local stadiums will allow young people and adults to indulge in their favorite sport in good conditions. In addition, this will undoubtedly contribute to the emergence of new sporting talents and the development of Kinshasa youth.

This project benefits from financial support from the French development agency, which supports the Ministry of Sports and Leisure in carrying out this major project. The work will begin once the project has been awarded, following the appraisal phase. This is excellent news for the city of Kinshasa, which will soon be able to count on modern local sports infrastructures adapted to the needs of its population.

In conclusion, the construction of local stadiums in Kinshasa is an ambitious project which will contribute to the development of sport in the Congolese capital. By offering modern and accessible infrastructure, this project will promote sports practice, encourage the discovery of new talents and contribute to the development of Kinshasa youth. This is an important step in the development of sport in the DRC and a great opportunity for the inhabitants of Kinshasa to benefit from quality sports facilities.
